Puzzle Guides

Step-by-step solutions for the game's gates, co-op puzzles, and hint chains. Late-game puzzle solutions are gated as spoilers.

The Bean Quest (Gym 1 barrier)

Astrxlol won't battle until the cafe's bean shipment clears the checkpoint.

  1. Head north out of Dripfield onto Route 2; reach the Route 2 Checkpoint.
  2. A Litigious grunt blocks the bean crate over an import form. Beat the checkpoint grunts (this sets the 'bean-checkpoint-cleared' flag).
  3. Continue to the freight office and release the bean crate (the freight-office-bean-crate interaction).
  4. Return to Grounds Zero in Dripfield — the gym is now open. Note: in co-op the gym door requires the whole group ('flag:bean-quest-done,group').

Suspiciously Quiet Cave — Co-op Switch Puzzle

The deep chamber (the Original's home) is gated behind simultaneous switches that need two or more players.

  1. Surf/work your way into the cave from Colombia. The outer cave has normal spawns (Dustmutt, Husky, Spambat).
  2. Find the two co-op switches in the cave. They must be pressed at the same time — one player per switch.
  3. With both held, the gate to the depths opens. Wild encounter rate drops to ZERO near the deep chamber — the silence is the tell.
  4. The depths (sqc-deep) hold the Original's lair; this is the beat-13 cave race location.

Field Office Sequence (post-Badge 2)

Infiltrate the Litigious field office for Tamale Man's file — and leave with three key things.

  1. The field office door is 'by appointment only' until the quest is active (a sequence-break guard). Start it after Badge 2.
  2. Inside: beat the intern/grunt trainers. Watch for Casemimic statics — wrong briefcases that bite (catchable, one per campaign each).
  3. Grab the Catching License Act draft and the PRIOR ART file (the Knockoff exists on paper here).
  4. The unpaid intern will revive your Colombia fossils (Exhibit A / Exhibit B) — bring the fossil items.
  5. Recover Evidence (Bicycle) from the evidence locker. Ash Fight 2 is waiting outside.

Fishing (Some Guy's Rod)

There's exactly one rod in the game, and you get it from a man giving up.

  1. Talk to the eleven-years fisherman at Liability Bay: 'Eleven years I've fished this spot. Never got a bite.'
  2. He finally quits and hands over Some Guy's Rod. The giving-up beat IS the acquisition.
  3. Fish any water to find Flopp. Grind it to Lv 35 for Floppp (still bad), then ONE more level to Lv 36 for Flopppp (genuinely excellent, and a Dragon type).

The Truck & Diadrawz (the Mew hint chain)

There is a truck. Something is under it. This is the Mew legend, except true.

  1. Hint chain (mostly off the main path): a fisherman says 'Trucks don't park there. That one does.' A kid says 'My dad says there's nothing under the truck. He checks every week.' The field-office files (Beat 9) list a vehicle, unregistered, tow attempts: 11, ownership cannot be established.
  2. The Docket is post-final-boss only. It opens via Prior Art — the Original's signature field move (pre-learned on catch). The barrier postdates the Original; rules don't apply to things that precede them.
  3. At the Docket, the truck is there. Diadrawz is under it (Lv 70 static, one per campaign).
  4. Catching Diadrawz unlocks the final dex entry — which signs '-Greg' and notices a zipper. Completing the dex triggers the Greg reveal.

P2 → P1 (the required trade)

Dex completion requires exactly one trade, by design.

  1. At the Routerton LAN Center, find P2 — a controller on a folding chair among the real ones (static, one per campaign). Interact to battle and catch it.
  2. Trade P2 to a friend in your campaign. The trade evolves it into P1 ('Someone finally picked it up.').
  3. This is the only trade-only evolution; the shared dex can't be completed solo.

Glasshollow Co-op Misprint Room

A guaranteed-Misprint Cindrel waits behind a co-op room — the co-op prize.

  1. In Glasshollow (victory-road position), find the misprint room.
  2. It holds a guaranteed-Misprint Cindrel static (one per campaign) — the pseudo-legendary line, in its rare palette.
  3. Cindrel evolves at Lv 32 (Scorian) and Lv 45 (Obsididrake). The whole line keeps the dex writer's genuine hype.
